Kickdown lever bushing and retainer

Putting in rebuilt motor and connecting kickdown rod. Have a bronze bushing and E-clip for the attachment to carb. The connection at FMX transmission  appears to be missing a bushing and is only in place with E-clip. I see there are some vendors that supply a Delrin version that require drilling out the hole in the rod. They also supply a spring retainer clip in lieu of the E-clip. Which is the correct application?

E clip and colorless opaque bushing at each end is correct
I bought a custom stainless steel rod with OEM looking bushings installed in a manner that looked identical to my stock rod from John van Heertum on eBay
I can pm you his email if you’re interested in sending him your rod to have bushings done

Bronze bushing at the carb arm would not be original ;)

Delrin is the superior material that's used for bushings these days.
If you order a pair from www.kickdownrods.com, this is what their site has to say about them:

It recently occurred to me that there must be kickdown rods out there that are good except for the fact that the bushings are worn out or broken out due to cracking and age. (I've seen them for sale on Ebay!) Since I provide nearly all the kickdown rods that there are for Fords cars and trucks, it seemed to me to be only appropriate to design and make my own SNAP-IN REPLACEMENT KICKDOWN ROD BUSHINGS for those who only need the bushings. This will provide an economical means for an enthusiast to renew his own rod bushings rather than having to replace the whole rod.

These bushings were designed and machined by yours truly to be  easily installed by the purchaser in  his own garage or auto shop. They are made from the same material that I make the permanently installed bushings on the new rods that I make.....Delrin. I've also provided a simple, plastic stand-off bushing to assist in installing the new bushings into the rod ends. The new bushings can be  tapped into position against a hard surface with a soft-faced hammer.

Installation instructions will be sent with each kit order for your convenience. Once the bushing is snapped into place, it is IN THERE! On my trial installation in my shop, I had to destroy the bushing to get it out of the rod! Testament to the fact that it WILL STAY IN!

The hole in the rod ends must be drilled or reamed out to .375" (3/8") and the flatted side (side it's being installed from) slightly chamfered to assist the installation of the new bushing. The proper fitment and retaining of the bushing depends on this hole being THE CORRECT SIZE. The side opposite the flatted, installation side should have a square hole edge to allow the bushing to grab the rod tab firmly to prevent pullout.

There is a view of a rod end prepared for this shown above in the pictures. After installation of the bushing, the 1/4" hole must be carefully reamed out to .250" to assure it will fit on the lever pin on the carb and on the transmission lever.

The kit includes 2 snap-in bushings and the back-up, installation bushing as shown in picture above and  2 "E" clips.
