Topic: Steering wheel inclusion

Starting to refinish the wheel I have to decide whether to remove and fill this (probably metal) shiny chip at 8 o'clock. This has been in this wheel as long as I can remember (from '78), but I am not sure it is a 'birthmark' or somehow got pounded into the plastic by PO.
I am more than happy to clear it back over.
Any others see random molded in imperfections?
