Do any of you know how to tell if you have a tach wiring harness? I guess is there a extra plug for this? Or some thing that stands out? Thanks every one.

Yes. I have my cluster out dealing with an over-volting regulator. I'll post a picture here along with a couple things to look for.
Proving it's mounted in the vehicle you'll note on the right side opening where the harness goes across the dash panel support there are two wires. They are single bullet connectors. One male, one female.  On the left side a tach wiring harness has a separate single wire close to the Cluster plug/windshield washer plug for the left turn signal lamp.
Ignore the white scotchlok. That is a bypass wire. That is the tack side. The wire over the cluster connector is for the left hand turn signal lamp in the cluster. The non-tach cars don't have the separate wire for the lamp.
I hope this helps.

As you suspect there is a female bullet plug and a male bullet plug in the area slightly downstream from the ignition switch. This is where the factory tach plugs in .The ignition will not work unless a tach is plugged in series or the male and female are plugged into each other. That was not meant to read provocative on purpose. ::) I hope this post does not get censored.

Another way is to look for a yellow molded 2 pin connector at the interface between the underdash and the headlight harness.  This plug contains the ammeter (red, yellow) wires.  If present, it is NOT a tach car.  If missing, and doesn't look like the plug or wires have been cut, it is a tach car.  A tach car will not have yellow and red wires side by side on  the dash cluster connector.

I found the soft pink wire going to the plug on one. Then I found a soft pink wire close to the switch plug with male end on another harness. Am I right to say if the pink wire go's to the switch plug it's NOT a tach harness? Then one pink wire with male bullet is a Tach harness?
Thanks for all the help. I hope this helps others.

Is your cluster out? Take a picture and post.  The pink wire is the resistor wire which would exist tach or not.

Here is a Shelby tach harness with just the tach wires connected to the dash.

Interestingly, the white Scotchlok connector for the gauge lights shows up here as well.

Well here is whats going on. I have 3 67 Harnesses. 2 was marked shelby. Thats why asked all the questions. I have 2 under hood harnesses. How can I tell a tach one? Plus I have one 68 harness that has the pink male and the same 2 wire female as the 67.Does this sound correct? I know 68's are different in other ways. I guess 3 questions. Do the 6000 and the 8000 tachs take same wiring? I promise this is it.
Thanks Bob for all the help in the past.

You are exactly correct.  The pink resistor wire either starts at the ignition switch (non-tach) or as a male bullet (tach) and both go to a black square 4 pin plug that mates with the headlight harness and has 3 males and 1 female pin.

To tell the difference between 67 and 68's: look for a square red molded connector that mates with the headlight/underdash harness.  The 67 version has only 4 pins in a square pattern; the 68 version has a 6 pin plug (rectangle) but only five pins are used.
The wiring for the tach, whether 6k or 8k, is the same regardless.
