65 Horse corral and bars - steel chrome or anodized aluminum?
« on: October 19, 2013, 05:09:19 PM »
Hi everyone.  I am a longtime reader but this is my first post.  I am restoring my 65 convertible that my father purchased new. It is a 289 2V, Caspian Blue with black top and black standard interior, 3 speed manual, console, power top.  All of the mechanicals are restored so now it's body and chrome time.  Glazier/Nolan will be doing the heavy lifting but I am working some things myself first.

Question - the running horse in the front grill, its "corral", and the horizontal grill bars that stick out to each side - is this entire structure chromed steel or is any of it aluminum?  I want to send it out for rechroming unless it is aluminum.  I found the wide grill trim beneath this is anodized aluminum so not sure if any of this is as well.

Thanks in advance.  I enjoy the forum, lots of great info on here from genuinely knowledgeable folks.
