Topic: 65 radiator

I sent the radiator out to be cleaned and tested(65 289,automatic). The good news, it doesn't leak, the bad news, it flows at only 50%. The radiator guy is afraid if he tries to further clean it out with acid that it will develop leaks. So my options are to use it as is and see how well it cools. have it recored ($400) or buy a replacement. Does anyone make a correct replacement? What would you all suggest?

Take it to a radiator shop that can rod it out. They will need to take the tanks off and clean the passages out with a rod and the reinstall the tanks.

So to help make a informed decision keep in mind that modern cores have a different fin per square inch then originals . Modern cores have more fins for more cooling. Some want a modern core for efficiency and some want a original core for historic accuracy .

Also, if replacing the core, compare the location of the upper and lower radiator hose attachment points. They may be off slightly or more and may create issues with later, installing correct hoses. Just one of many things to compare and check
