67 Steering Column bracket color?
« on: December 31, 2010, 11:01:19 AM »
Should the brackets that secure the column to the firewall be SG black or column color ? Red in this case. 12-66 built Dearborn 67 fastback. Thanks for the help.

The two-piece bracket that holds the steering column to the firewall from the inside is painted semi-gloss black. The nuts/bolts that hold the brackets together around the column are bare steel, the two small sheet metal bolts that hold the bracket position to the firewall are zinc plated, and the four larger sheet metal bolts that hold the bracket/steering column to the firewall are zinc dichromate.
