Rebuilding clutch fan part # C8OE-B
« on: May 08, 2020, 04:03:32 AM »
So I recently purchased a used NOS C8OE-B clutch fan for a 69 SCJ that looks great, spins free but high speeds it makes noise so I am told. I have looked for a rebuild kit and or some one that can do the work and provide parts. I have had no good results as of this post. Any leads would be wonderful. Thanks for looking at my post. Keeper

There is a Corvette guy that rebuilds them but I can not remember his name. I understood that it took him a long time to do the work and it was pricy that is why I purchased a very nice reproduction from Chris Brown. He can even stamp the correct part numbers on it.

Best of luck

This is the guy (Vinny) but if I'm remembering correctly, he retired a year or two ago:

If he did, it's a real shame. He did really awesome work!

Thank you J Speegle and others. This forum is incredible. BTW, the fan clutch I purchased will be replacing an after market fan blade with no clutch. The radiator is a nice after market one as well. Interesting enough the motor runs on the cool side and I am told CJ motors run hot in many instances. I hope I don't end up fixing something that really needs not fixed. LoL ... My goal is to make the car closer to driver concourse than it is now. Thanks to this forum I was able to locate a fan clutch and radiator in one evening. Bob Gaines is huge help.

I had one done by Vinny about 10 years ago. He had it for about 18 months. It looked great and worked great when I got it back but he would not answer emails or calls. It was overall not something I would do again.

Royce - are you sure that was Vinny and not the guy in Florida?  He took forever!

I don't think it was ever in Florida. The last time I needed one I bought the reproduction from the body shop in Louisiana. Very nice piece, near perfect.

Fred is the guy I thought Royce might have been referring to.  He had mine for a year.  Vinny is now in Florida, retired or semi-retired.
