Topic: Seat belt Date code

Hello all,

I just looked up my seat belt code with attached tag.  I was just wondering if i was reading the date properly in the library under seat belt dates.  It says my seat belts were made August 12th through the 18th, 1968.  My cars scheduled date for build was September 30th, 1968 and the actual build was October 14th,1968.  Because this was a deluxe red seat belt set was it made that far ahead?

Seat belts, like anything else, were made in batches to fill an order size. When the supply got low enough another order would be placed to replenish the supply. Deluxe red belts might have been one of the smaller order sizes or the longest between refilling.


Your seat belt dates would be reasonable.
