Topic: Painted bumpers?

Is there any info on special ordered paint cars having none matching painted (silver) bumpers?  This would be urethane bumpers not chrome bumpers. Another thought would be any unexplained use of chrome bumpers instead of painted urethane bumpers.

Any insight would be appreciated. I'm thinking this might carry over to my 74 being non-standard.

This thought came to mind as some 69 sport mirrors came in chrome and not body color like normal.

From reading the 7123 forum, those cars with urethane bumpers (73?) and had special order paint, had their front bumpers painted argent, as it was too difficult to paint them specially. 
Just my recollection.

Thank you. That's exactly what I was looking for. It explains the Argent bumpers on my 74 with special paint.
