A/C HOLES IN RADIATOR SUPPORT
« on: May 31, 2020, 03:33:01 AM »
I replaced my Radiator support on my SJ FB and I'm also adding a factory under dash A/C unit.  My question is how to locate the holes for both the upper and lower holes ? Is there specific dimensions for locating them and what is the correct hole sizes.  Thanks

While I am not as familiar with 1965's as my 66, and I do not have a 1965 Assembly Manual, I would think (?) that 1965 would prove similar. I have attached a copy from the 1966 Assembly Manual ; hopefully you can find the same two dimples on your 65 as are noted on the 66.

Hope this helps,

Bob

It's in the 65 Mustang Electrical Assembly Manual (AM0008, pg 49 and 56). The A"C under dash unit drain is documented there too.
If you don't have a set of Mustang Assembly Manuals for your car's year, I strongly suggest you get a set.

I think you can see the holes in these pictures.

yes Jim, those are the holes. However, they are in a car that has, or had previously, A/C. As the OP is adding A/C, as well as replacing his Radiator Support, unless his replacement Radiator Support came from a car that originally had A/C, there would only be dimples there, showing where to drill (or punch) the 1-1/4" holes.
