Did you request complementary Vaseline?  8)  Shipping just isn't weight, but dimensional weight these days. Fed Ex kills me sending things to a friend of mine who is serving in Baumholder, Germany, and the spouse is a flight attendant for an airline and we pay about 30% of retail. I know your pain!

Almost everything what I gonna order in the States is double the cost offered by vendor (unless I order a bulk of pieces at least to "save" some shipping cost). FX rate doesn't help neither anymore. Almost 1:1 using PayPal (1,05).
However, looking forward to receive a nice piece of trunk mat, hopefully. Will see....

Same here, Belgium isn't that far from Germany  ;)
We all know it's an expansive hobby, but when we're able to drive our car, we forgot about all the troubles and money :)

I'm looking for a picture showing the original burtex mat completly in the trunk w/o spare tire (CV 67).

Would like to see the geometry and dimensional fitting.

Here are some, but not complete......http://www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=2537.msg13368#msg13368

Does anyone know, how many parts on the Burtex Mat from NPD are beeing delivered? 1, or 3 (1 big and 2 small pieces?)

Picture available?

Thx
Ralf

Ralf,

The correct answer to your question is there is only one piece to the 67 trunk mat. And the correct trunk mat end on top of the gas tank and does not up and on top of the trunk drop out. Up to this email discussion, there have not been any correct 67 trunk mats...not even close!

I have a few Metuchen original mats that are not good enough for show but are good enough to make correct templates.

Pete Morgan

Just to show you what I got (NPD), stitched.

Not sure if it is correct in shape and also color (seems a bit yellow, not grey)?

My "old" one is laying underneath.
Hope you can open the files...

Pictures...just in  case of....

EDIT:
Answer from Scott:
The trunk mat that was in your car is the cheap replacement mat with a white felt backing.  Not anywhere close to original.  The repro mat you just got is the closest to OE that is currently available.
Regards,
Scott

(No reflection on colour and amount of parts, but here seems to be only 1 as already posted)

Here's an oddity -- the pattern anyway.

I found this in the back of the Boss (see sig).
It appears to be for a 67 fastback as it fits the 67 Shelby pretty well.

It's heavy (not a cheapy). It's dated 1975. And it has stitching.

My best guess so far is that it's a service replacement and whoever created it didn't pay attention to the correct pattern.

I'm betting its an aftermarket replacement. Places like Sears, JC Whitney and others sold replacement trunk mats back in the day.  In some cases the material is the same as what was used originally other times its not
