Topic: Master cylinder -Manual 69 drum brakes

Hi all,   I am currently searching for the correct master cylinder that would have been on my car.
1969 Mustang of course built in Dearborn in Nov. of 1968.
Manual drums front and back.  Base car with no options.   
250ci.  The 250ci cars came with 5 lug also.   
I've narrowed it down to Bendix but am finding so many different descriptions.  Such as hex stop bolt or allen stop bolt on bottom, dimple on front, or dimple on bottom.  Date codes on drivers side or no date codes.  I have already bought the wrong one once and don't wanna do that again. 
Also,  a picture is worth a thousand words if anyone has some.  Thanks.

Looks like you've been reading allot of details from the power disc brakes since that is what is found on most of the popular to restore cars

Started looking into the subject and have at least 40 examples (just dealing with the pictures I have and the obstructive views/what can be seen) and so far not raise dot on the main body above the forward port as we find on other styles of master cylinders. Allot of them have a visible exterior "dimple" in the froward face of the bore.

Will gather more and post some pictures. Not sure if we will find evidence to answer all at this time but lets see where it leads us

Thanks Jeff.   Sounds like there could be a few examples to go with then.  I will try to get the best that I feel comes closest.  Just trying to be right on the money with this.  Thanks

Also should've asked, is there a difference between the two brake pedals ?  I am converting back from power to manual.  Thanks

Here is a picture of a NOS one.  No Bendix or stop bolts on the bottom - just a few cast in non-descript numbers and a date code.

Seems as though I can find just about any configuration on these.  I will try to find the closest one and focus and the cap now.  I believe the cap and bowls should be the same size.

Stamped number and markings on the side of the main case is not a Ford number. In some cases it appears to be a possible assembly date and identification for Bendix in house purposes


These appear to be very similar to the ones used in 67 & 68 for manual drum brake cars
