Correct 289 Fender V8 Pony Emblem 67?
« on: January 30, 2020, 02:52:10 PM »
Hi,
Does anyone has a picture showing the correct 67 pin position (all 4 ) and eng. number?

What I found:

1967:
289 emblem carry a C7ZZ-16229-C for the LH and C7ZZ-16228-C for the RH and had the small pins for the clip inserted in the fender as is correct for 1967.

1968:
When the 68 model year arrived, the service parts were updated to the 68 style larger pins and the pin on the tail in a different location that installed with nuts on the back side of the fender but still retained the C7ZZ part number on the service part boxes.
C8ZB 16C229/228 D

Great thx
Ralf

Hallo Ralf,

of Course i´m not 100% sure if original...but my 67 shows the Number: C7ZB – 16C228 - A    (L.H. Side)
It´s a 289 / March 2nd / Dearborn.

Thank you. Clearly to see outer pin tail position (1967) in your pic.

So, than here is probably a 1968
Look to the pin tail position, which is more inner. Strange, the box shows C7ZZ.

And different thickness of the pins,
