Does a factory '65 GT use a different ignition switch from a non-GT? I recently purchased a '65 GT coupe and have been working on getting it running. When I turned the key, it was immediately obvious that something was wrong with the ignition switch; you couldn't feel any of the detents or that the key was actually doing anything (if that makes sense). I took the dash out, and the switch has been replaced before, and the red-green wire has been spliced into.
I looked at the Osborn '65 electrical assembly manual, and it appears that '65s with the GT option used a 4-wire ignition switch, whereas all other non-GT '65s used a
3-wire ignition switch. Is that correct? I wanted to verify before changing anything with the existing wiring.
