68 289 Valve Cover Question

This was asked in another thread but felt it needed its own thread so that the information could be easily found later for reference by members

While looking for the answers to the above questions, I came across some information that in 1968 the 289 engines had "Power by Ford" embossed on the valve covers. Is it correct?

Thank you Jeff for all the attached examples.

Do you know since which date was it applied to the cars? Was it exactly at the point of turning to 1968 model year or earlier/ later?

My car was sporting a 1970 F100 engine with aftermarket valve covers when it came to me, so I am of no help but do have something to add to this discussion.

I have seen these valve covers with and without the large passenger side bracket. It would certainly appear that all of the cars listed above have the bracket. Anyone know the break down of what applications did and did not use the bracket?

My valve covers came off a 69 F-code Falcon and do not have the passenger bracket. I guess I will be looking for a bracketed set unless someone suggests otherwise.

Edit: found additional information at http://www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=418.msg2119#msg2119. The bracket was bolt on? And used with 1968 small block Thermactor cars only? So as a federal emission car with a c-code and automatic, my car would not have the bracket?

Looking at other C code non -thermactor examples - those engines would have had the relocation bracket for the passenger side spark plug wires also

As a note on the bracket color, on my Jan 68 C code Dearborn unit the bracket appears to have been entirely black originally and did not have any remnants of blue paint on it on either side. The engine had not been previously apart / rebuilt. I see in the photos that some are blue and one is rusty. The black on mine was aged / starting to flake in tiny pieces with rust coming on. It was still attached with the hex head sheet metal screws as seen in the pictures. Were some actually black and some blue? Some painted with the engine, some added after the engine was painted or?
