65-66 Fastback Rear Ashtrays?
« on: November 20, 2019, 07:57:18 PM »
Someone on Facebook posted that they have ash trays in place of the courtesy lights on the fastback panels.  Was this ever an option from the dealer?  I thought I remember seeing one once before a long time ago but don't remember where.  Trying to look through my books currently

Possibly someone took the Ford Accessory Mustang Rear Armrests made for 1965-66 Coupes and mounted them in a Fastback ?

Pictures attached.

Neither have I. Just saying that it's possible that is what someone might have done.

Not sure where you would place them on a fastback that would clear the fold down on a 65-66. not sure what the courtesy light would have in common other than if left off there would be a big hole. Got to love Facebook - if you ever visit it

Never seen them installed on a fastback - but have coupes a few times.

If you use another year Ford [front] seat-back ashtray it would work.
Cut the light opening bigger and square in order to fit the 1960 seat-back ashtray.
By using this ashtray the fold-down still works.
