Mustang Times Tribute
« on: November 10, 2019, 01:22:44 PM »
The last issue of the Mustang Times had a well deserved tribute to Richard Porter and his wife Patricia.
I remember the first time I met Richard it was at a national show and  he came up and treated me like an old friend and gave me some advice on how to improve my car before the judges arrived. From that point on I would search him out at national shows just to say hello and catch up on what was going on in the world of K codes. Nice tribute to a real ambassador for the MCA.

I never met him while at the Grand National but they had a wonderful tribute for him at the Grand National in DC this year. I gather his contributions to the hobby and MCA were tremendous.

Yes his time involved with the local club and MCA go back along time. Not afraid to speak his mind and knew 65-66's very well especially cars built local to where he was located. He posted a number of times back when we opened house here though over time he had more important things to do with his time.

He and his wife were always warm and welcoming and he will be missed

Yes, Richard is still around, spent some time with him
at MCA show In Fredericksburg. He took time out of
his busy schedule to introduce me to some people
I wanted to meet, he also has helped me restore my
K-Code, Richard is a giver in a world of takers, they
don’t come any better.

Ooops! If my reply added to thoughts of premature departure, I amended my previous reply to help avoid misunderstandings :D sorry Richard!
