Said the door tag is missing of course. Question though, was San Jose even using the letter F in other lines on VINs at that time of production to get a mis stamp? If it wasn’t being used why would it be available to be placed in the stamping tool?
Have no idea (never talked to a worker assigned that position) that station was laid out. Don't know if there were multiple complete sets of dies (so that they could cover 99999 for example) or they had a limited number of stamps available As usual we're left to guess
Interesting that the door tag is missing. In CA doors are not swapped out at the same rate as you will find in other parts of the country since we don't have the same rust issues
Would be nice tot see one of the VINs up close just in case it is a restamp by someone other than the plant
