Hi all.
This is really a cool forum.
Wish I found it earlier .
Until now, I found a lot of contradictory info .
At the moment I am restoring a 1969 Sportsroof GT which was built in Metuchen (9th of may 1968).
I just started my 10th anniversary .
Is a list availlable of the paint scheme (body color / black / clear coat) ?
Especially the following parts:
- piece of sheetmetal under wiper motor
- protective cover wiper motor
- correct engine color? VHT SP755 / VHT SP138 / VHT SP125?
- shock absorber bracket / front coil springs: black or clear coat?

Not sure what you mean. Exterior color/paint?  No clear coats were originally used.

Especially the following parts:
- piece of sheetmetal under wiper motor

- protective cover wiper motor

Suggest you place a wanted add in the WANTED section of the site

- correct engine color? VHT SP755 / VHT SP138 / VHT SP125?

Not sure what engine your referring to - color can vary a little it seems due to different plants but in general the PPG or a match of that color is the most recommended. Rattle can single stage will not hold up over time very well.
But to your question I would not recommend any of the VHT line.  Subject has been covered a number of times. Using the search feature and the words "engine blue" if found

Which shock absorber bracket? Front upper. Rear lower?

If upper fronts then take a look at the article in the 69 section of the Library named -  Paint - 1969 and 70 - Slop Gray or Black Panels and Brackets

Again clear coat was not used on any parts some use it today to protect bare non-painted finishes but it has a number of negatives so most choose protective film/coating instead. Plenty of threads on the subject many related to phosphate and oil finishes.

Coil springs may have been semi-gloss black but I've always found them to be dark heat treated bare steel - one of the workers at the San Jose plant described them as looking like they had been phosphated. Rear springs were also dark heat treated bare steel. Plenty of threads and pictures of both in the search.





Just a little reading to catch you up and help. That's why threads and prior posts are important.

Thank you for your reactions.
You are probably right, I should search a little bit better on this forum . I am flabbergasted by the size of this forum . I mean, wow.
After I posted my topic I found exactly what I was looking for: some nice topics with pictures of unrestored Mustangs.
About my question: I was looking for a list of part and color combinations.
For instance lower control arm - black / master cylinder - blank material etc.
I do have a lists, but it is uncomplete.
I am looking for some parts, but I post my wanted list on Dutch fora .
