I have had a '66 coupe that I did as concours trailered that won multiple golds at national/grand national shows about 16-18 years ago. Bought a '68 GT/CS already done as concours trailered and got multiple silvers on.
My current GTCS was done to a concours trailered level of quality but there are non- stock items on the engine and the booster/MC. It has a Shelby intake and an Edelbrock, Cobra valve covers and chrome air cleaner. 100 amp tuff stuff alternator, Sanden compressor and HiPo exhaust manifolds. I have the stock carb, compressor and alternator so I could easily get it back to stock. But, I have no desire to enter it in any MCA events. Nothing wrong whatsoever with MCA events and I had fun with them but it is kind of been there, done that. I do drive the car around on some nice days and do some local car shows and cruise nights.
The MC is not stock, just some off the shelf replacement. There is a slight, slight leak at the rear of it so that is why I am delving into the project. And, I figured if I am going to do it and have to remove the booster to get the MC off, I might as well do it right. Just collecting parts now and it will be a winter project.
I think I will go with the Dead on MC
