Rear Brake Drum Black out
« on: March 08, 2019, 08:57:27 AM »
Was rear brake drum black out paint still used on the 68 Shelby's even though they came with a full hub cap?

I thought I could see a bit of black on mine but was not sure. I thought the black out may have been done on the assembly line same as any GT.

No blackout. It should be natural cast

Thanks for the help Chris.

Great story on your Shelby. Congratulations on your gold!

I am doing most of my restoration my self but have hired out the body and paint work. I would not be able to do this restoration with out the help on this forum and other judge friends.

Your welcome Marty, glad to be able to share what I have learned during my build.

I farmed out my paint and body as well. I was a technician when younger but the whole industry has changed and I thought it best to leave it to the professionals.

Glad you enjoyed the article. Thanks for the nod on the award.

I agree the assistance provided by this and other sites/individuals is much appreciated.

Chris
