factory installed stripes
« on: February 05, 2011, 07:37:49 PM »
Is there anything on the build sheet indicating that a 1972 Mach 1 came with the hockey stick stripes?

Thanks, Chuck

Jeff,  A 18 Has a "M". A 19-20 has "6F". A 23-24 has "GF". Your help decoding is always appreciated. What can I do to educate myself in decoding the build sheets? I do appreciate your help but, I feel somewhat embarrassed to keep asking you for help in these matters. Am I doomed to the darkness that is ignorance?

Thanks Again,
Chuck

There are no books or instruction manuals that I know of that will help you "learn" how to decode these. It would take a few thousand examples (buildsheets) with matching Marti reports and a bit of time. But almost everything you read on this forum started with an owner, magazine writer or hobbyist that had a question or need and choose to be the person that would start the ball rolling. Through the years we have learned allot for what started as an individual effort.

Everything starts somewhere ;)

Chuck,

My build sheet indicates M in Box A 18.  This coincides with my Eminger Invoice indicating Body Side Tape stripe.  6f is your exterior color where mine is 4f for the Medium Lime Metallic.  I also have GA and do not know if that indicates Deluxe Mach 1 interior or the color.  My car has its original black Mach 1 deluxe interior that coincides with my Eminger invoice.  Do you have an Eminger on your car.  If not you should get it from Marti Works its a great tool to help out.

Thanks Brian. I believe that answers the question. It came with stripes. I have them, just not sure I'll put them on. I had a 72 R code Mach 1 back in the day without the stripes and I really liked the look.
