Has anyone had any luck restoring/polishing these?

I had a polishing company do mine.  Came out nice except for some spots that are in the metal themselves.

Originally they were not highly polished and this makes it a bit of a challenge to get them looking back like originals.  Service replacements for a decade or more with were available with the polished finish so this often fueled discussions in the past
