1970 CA Emissions Systems
« on: October 02, 2018, 03:58:02 PM »
Although this information does not apply to alot of cars that are being restored these days, I wanted to put something together for us that visually shows what these systems looked like.  Always seems to be alot of questions at car shows when one of these CA systems shows up.  Tried to cover all the major components here.

Marcus, you did it again. Good job. It also reinforces my decision to buy a 69 Mustang instead of waiting for the 70 models. Yeah, I live in California.

Marcus great article . I would mention that on a 69/70 Shelby the DOAZ 9030-A non vented gas cap will not work on the normal 69 gas filler neck installed in a Mustang. That deep neck is what keeps it from working. That is not the same non vented cap used in the infamous gas fume recall done on 69/70 GT500's which consisted of a filler neck modification and a non vented gas cap. It was different cap. Your article seems to imply it is the same since it mentions Shelby.

Thanks all.  I just modified and updated the PDF to remove the Shelby gas cap reference.  After looking thru all the information on that its probably best to leave that alone as its a whole separate discussion on how those fuel fillers and caps were modified for the Shelbys.
