70 Mach 1 map light connection
« on: October 01, 2018, 06:01:55 PM »
I have a 1970 Dearborn Mach 1. My map light has a two prong connector that has male/female. My harness has a two prong female/female the same as the clock connector? What gives? Wrong map light? Anyone know?

Thanks, Chris

The clock harness for 1970 does end up in a female/female plug, but what you are missing is a short harness that goes from male/male to male/female.  I personally have never seen one, but one can easily cobble one together with the now reproduced radio-side radio plug and a standard male/female trailer connector.  If you want to match the dual female plug on the clock harness, you'll have to find another clock harness and use that plug.

That’s what I figured. I’ll make one up like you said, I can always change it later. Thanks for the fast reply

On a 70, the map light plugs into the Convenience group harness, if your car didn't have that option, there's no way to plug it in, without making something up.... (the map light was only available as part of the convenience group)
