1965 vs 1966 GT emblem location
« on: August 24, 2018, 11:30:35 AM »
I use the location to help identify a factory GT(I'm aware of all the factory modifications).  I've come across a 1965 that has all the factory mods, every single one, including the support inside the rear frame where the holes are for the hangers, but the GT emblem is further back from the fender than usual.  I assume the '65 had the emblem in the same place as '66....or was there some variance between assembly plants?

Haven't heard of any variations.

Would check over the fender to see if the date code matches the car.  Otherwise, maybe the holes were filled by accident during a re-paint.

+1

Might check to see if the non-GT emblem holes are there and welded or filled if they used a different fender during a rebuild at some point in the past
