Topic: 1966 C4 Dipstick tube 6cyl

Does anyone have a part No. or picture of a dipstick that is correct for a 1966 C4 200.

My dipsticks bracket doesn't seem to align to the starter bolt.  Seems like there is a kink on the curvature part of the tube.  Don't know if that is the reason why the bracket doesn't align.   I also seen different types of brackets from shorter to longer and can't figure out which is correct.

I was thinking of purchasing from this eBay seller but don't know if that would be a correct dipstick tube.

Since the tubes do not have engineering numbers on them unless you find a NOS one with the paper sticker on it I don't think the part number is going to help much

Looks like in the ad they posted the number from the dipstick not the tube. For your application the same dipstick was used on 6 and 8 cylinder automatics and the part number is shown as C6OZ-7A020-A

For the tube C6OZ-7A228-A Approx 19.25 long and like all the rest 7/8" in dia. Same length and size as a V8 but different part and shape

Here is the only picture I have of an example out of the car with tube from the same application. Appears that the tube is not fully seated/installed since the arm is slightly forward of where it would be once everything was together

How would a V8 tube look like as you said "different shape"  would the bracket be the same or also different.

Get into the habit of using "Ford Car Parts" (aka MPC) to get some background information on a parts question. The 75 edition is in this Forum's library. Remember, the MPC is a service document. It may not reflect what was originally installed on the assembly line. It does list service stock numbers which are most likely what are to be used on e-bay.

How would a V8 tube look like as you said "different shape"  would the bracket be the same or also different.

Remember that the bellhousing is wider on a V8 and the attaching arm/bracket is located "higher" since it attaches to the head rather than the bellhousing so location and angle are different.



Don't have both in my hand to see if the arm/bracket is the same length.
