Topic: Stone Guard Waves - leave or fill?

For my May 68 Dearborn Car...

Would it be appropriate to leave the waves in the stone guard, pictured? Or would it have originally been finished better, aka I need to do some filler work?

I think this is a service replacement part as it had a c7zz in yellow paint on the back, and a “A 71” stamped in the top.

Those look like tooling marks. if they arn't too deep, I would fill them. Maybe "spot putty" would work?

Thanks for your input. Yes I’d say they are from getting stamped out on the tooling as well.  If this is a later service replacement, my thoughts are that maybe the tooling was worn by this point.

Do original cars have the waviness?

I know it’s barely visible but I’d like to replicate as close to correct as possible.
