Topic: Fuel pump

Long story short I had a replacement style 2100 on my 66 coupe that was giving me flooding issues constantly. Could never figure it out. I finally purchased a restored 2100. Fuel bowl continues to overflow. I have reset fuel levels multiple times. Tried three different needle and seat sets and also another float to no avail. I have a newer carter pump installed. I’m starting to wonder if it’s creating too much pressure. Does anyone have any input on a good replacement pump or any other suggestions that might help? Reliability is more important than correctness here as much as I’d love to put a correct nos  pump on. Thanks.

How much pressure is it putting out?

WOn't use a NOS pump but instead a rebuilt one with modern rubber parts to stand up to the modern current fuels with corn in them

+1 on finding your fuel pump pressure first. Gauges are cheap.

Turns out it was generating too much pressure. Didn't think that was even possibility but sure enough that was the issue.

I had the same problem with a aftermarket pump a couple of years ago.
