Dealership emblem
« on: May 03, 2018, 03:39:34 AM »
Hi,

looking for the metal Ken O’Keefe Ford Inc. (Louisville, KY) dealership emblem that was placed on the back of the cars back in the days. Please let me know if you have one.

Thanks,

Josep

Not every dealership added the dealership emblem you ask about. Have you researched this, or found an example that is known to be original from your time period? It is just a possibility they never existed or was not used during the year your car was sold.

Thanks Richard.
No, not really. I haven’t done a hard research but haven’t found/seen any, maybe is just what you say and they never added one to their cars.

Sometimes they used a decal like this one I saved and had reproduced for a car I did a few years ago.
Of course you need a good sample.

The salesman at the Ford Dealership where I bought two Fords (both ordered, a 69 and a 73), and made several successful referrals, stated that dealer ordered cars (inventory) usually got the dealer logo. Customer ordered did not (usually). They weren't around long enough to have that done. Almost every Ford got a pair of dealer logo license plate frames.

Thanks for the info guys, it’s been of great help.
I try to make a research and see if I can find something from Ken O’Keefe Ford Inc. from Louisville, KY

That decal looks nice.! Also the dealer plate frames should be good, but again no examples so I can reproduce..
