Gents,
Question:  Are these the correct nuts to thread onto the bottom of the motor mounts?  They are really tight to put on (even with a ratchet) and have a very small bend in both of them, each bend appearing consistent between the two nuts. 

Question 2:  Does this minor bend on each nut serve some sort of safety purpose to prevent the nut from coming off the bolt?

I think the nuts have the wrong thread. This is a problem with the nuts AMK sells . If you tighten them all of the way down you cross thread the stud. Others as well as myself have experienced the same thing . The style of nut is correct but the thread is wrong. Just the way it is . Complain to them. I don't know if they sell the nut with the correct thread or not. I ended up re plating original nuts. Yes, it is a locking nut.  The squeeze shape of the nut is design to lock it in place.

Oh Wow!  Okay.  Well glad I asked before I started forcing the nut on to the stud.  Thanks Bob!

I sent off an email to sales@amkproducts.com along with pictures and a description of the issue.  I am waiting on the owner to get back with me on this problem.

I had the same problem - I talked to them and they sent the correct nuts.

Did you check the 64-66 Hardware Spreadsheets in the Forum's library?
