'70 Timing pointer paint
« on: April 13, 2018, 06:40:32 PM »
I'm preparing to paint my '70 Boss 302 engine this weekend, and was wondering about the timing pointer. Should it be the same Ford blue as the engine? If so, was it installed on the engine when painted ( attaching nuts also painted blue?)?

Thanks,
    Todd

Was attached to the engine when it was painted as a unit so it and hardware was engine blue

This would help you a lot when detailing your Boss 302 engine.

Thanks John, I have been using Marcus's detailing guide, and it's been very useful. But, there are a few details that are obscrued in the photos. In particular, the area behind the alternator and smog pump.

Thanks again,
