Topic: Picture of K motor?

I'm getting ready to detail and paint the original motor out of my '65 K code fastback (San Jose, February 16, '65).  It's out of the car and will be on my stand by the end of the week and it would be helpful if I had a couple (or more) pictures of a correct, concourse-painted '65 K motor.  For example, I'm unsure at this point how much gloss in the black paint to use for the pulleys, alternator brackets, harmonic balancer, etc.; what the finish on the intake and the exhaust manifolds should look like;  gloss level on the oil pan, and so on.  If no one has pictures but can point me to an issue of Mustang Monthly Magazine or other publication that has published accurate pictures, that would help, too.  Thanks in advance!  Ron.

Originally all the bolt on (after paint) items would have been painted at different locations, with different paints, during different conditions..... so we would expect or at least not take a negative opinion of each being slightly different rather than all monotone. 

In some cases don't over think the task or job. Save that for other details

Thanks, guys.  All that information and the pictures of the restored '65 K convertible were all a motivating force!  If you're still in the mood to pitch in, I'm curious about the intake manifold and the factory K exhaust manifolds:  in the pictures the former appears to have been painted a semi-gloss black, and the exhaust manifolds seem have been bead blasted and put back on without any sort of finish or coating.  When you have time, please let me know if I've got that right.  Thanks again!  Ron

The exhaust manifolds are meant to be bare cast iron with engine block paint overspray given they were installed prior to painting. How you get there is up to you.There are a number of different methods.

I invite you to search for older threads related to cast iron exhaust manifold and how others got acceptable finishes

As for the paint on the exhaust manifolds  there are a number of non-K code (they are all the same) unrestored threads also. In this case 66 examples would likely be better to show the pain due to the contrasting color
