Correct Trico blade replacements???
« on: March 29, 2018, 12:26:46 PM »
I just picked these up at a local swap meet. They are 15" replacement Trico blades in an original Fomoco box, however I am unsure if the box and part number are correct?? Can anyone tell me if these would be correct for my 1966 Dearborn built coupe?

Looks good.

They should be correct for the '66 to '68 Mustang...

I'd say that you have a winner.  Yes. Those are the correct 15" Wiper Blades and correct metal finish. They'd be correct for a '66 Dearborn built Mustang.  Kudos to your Swap Meet find.

In '69, The Mustang went to 16" TRICO Blades....

Just for FYI, 16" TRICO Blades work perfectly well on '65-'68 Mustangs... though not "Technically" correct.. I ran them for years and years with no issues.. When adjusted properly, They don't even rub or touch the bottom windshield trim or gasket.

:o)

It depends how early in 66 your coupe was built. Those are for a little later in 66 production . The other style is the square sided shaped style like the 65 stainless ones but because of the federal regulations starting in 66 production they were satin. The rounded style like in the picture started a little later in production . My best guess for SJ plant would be later Jan or Feb 1966 . I don't know if the transition would be sooner or later at Dearborn. I suppose it would also have to do with how close the Trico supplying facility was to the Dearborn plant also.  It was a evolution of the part.

The earlier 65/66 Trico blades that I have seen had three lines across the length.

Thanks guys for the good vibes on these. I’m now very pleased with my find.

Bob, my coupe is a very late 66’ Dearborn build with a projected build date of July 21st 1966.
