what is/was wrong about your original washers? i do not understand the need to replace the washers unless they are damaged. they can be refinished & you will have the proper shape.

I don't have original washers.  The washers I do have, on the car, are posted in the earlier discussion and I believe are MOOG aftermarket .  I do fortunately have the original hardware.  Brian

Got lucky and located a set of OE 69 strut rod large retaining washers.  One pair is smooth faced and the other pair has witness marks from a nut.  The set up on the car now uses a washer behind the nuts front and rear.  Shop diagram shows nuts only no washer ?  Smooth retaining washer and smaller nut in rear position and retaining washer w/witness marks and large nut up front ?  No washers behind the nuts ?  Brian
