Topic: 69 door glass bracket location

Hi there I have a 1969 mach 1 and cant find any information where the brackets are glued on the door glass. If any body could give me these measurements for a fastback it would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes thank you i was  referred to a video on a cougar site and it said set brackets back 1" from ends of glass and said that was factory so just trying to clarify thanks

Given that the roller moves along that track there may have been some range where it was acceptable and it may be that different plants providing the glass had a couple of different jigs set up for this task that were different by that 1/4"

Believe that the measurements in the drawing were taken from an original front glass

Know we covered that subject in the first couple of years the site was open. Let me see if I can find the thread (or someone may beat me to it)

Guess your looking for what current product owner/builders are using as much as what was originally used for the thin (thickness) two sided adhesive black foam tape

I measured the window channels many years ago. I’m not sure if I have the windows handy. 1” or 1.25” sounds about right. I’m thinking more on the rear channel.

As for reglueinn, I cleaned out he channel enough to get a fair amount of glue in it. Back in the day, I used JB Weld. These days I would use DuPont Window Weld.

I’m pretty sure the coup and fastback windows were the same except for the vertical weatherstrip.

Lastly, I would sand the glass where the glue applies to the glass.

+1 ...Back in 70-72 the windows were already coming loose and at the dealer where I worked we would sand the glass and use epoxy with pretty good results.

I've used Goop for gluing window glass in a couple of my everyday drivers with excellent results - the stuff really adheres to glass.

There was stuff guys were picking up at the local hardware store. I know I did but its been a couple of years since I needed any and a roll will go a pretty long way
