Correct Window winder for Oct 64 SJ Convertible?
« on: March 28, 2016, 08:28:10 AM »
Hi guys,
I actually have a few different winders that came on or with the car and would love to know what they are.

Q1) Are front and rear winders the same?

Q2) Which one/s is/are correct for my car?

Part numbers are as follows:

C4SB-6330323-B
C5ZB-6523348-B
C4AB-7630323-C
C4DB-6223342-D

And the door handle is C5ZB-6522614-A. Is this correct for my car too?

Did google searches on all of these but it only made me more confused. If there is a site for part number look ups I'd love to know what it is.

Thanks in Advance.

Dan.

Dan,

I've been researching the same questions when I ran across your Post. Don't know if you ever received any answers elsewhere but believe I may have some.

Question 1: The Front and Rear Winders/Cranks are not the same.

Question 2: For your car, C4AB-7630323-C is the correct Door Window Crank; C4SB-6330323-B is the correct Quarter Window Crank.

Based on what I found, my car has a 23A estimated build date, your Front Window Crank, C4AB-7630323-C and door opener are the clip-on style used up to around March 1965; that could vary. The Quarter Window Crank, C4SB-6630323-B uses an Allen Head Set Screw, also used up to around March 1965. All of the Handles are somewhat thin in design.

After that through the 1967 Model Year, the Front Window Crank, C5ZB-6523348-B was held on by a screw as were the Door Handles and the Handles were wider with a couple of recesses along their length's; the Quarter Windows were still fastened with an Allen Head Set Screw and had the same design as the others to match.

I could not find anything on C4DB-6223342-D.

Lastly, Door Handle C5ZB-6522614-A is not correct for your car, the correct number that I found is C3AB-6222614-D and is what I have on my car.

Hope this helps...I'm not the expert, so someone else may correct me if I've made an error.

Take care...Ray.

As suskeenwiske provided - No they are different

Q2) Which one/s is/are correct for my car?

Sorry quarter window angle doesn't show the set screw hole/access
