64 1/2 Strut Rod Bushings absent "FRONT" identification
« on: November 14, 2017, 11:26:17 PM »
My 64 1/2 K code convertible has original strut rod bushings with the number C4DA-3A140-B molded near the edge along the perimeter (not visible when on the car), still both in pretty decent shape.  There is no trace of the word "FRONT" on either of them.  There are other numbers on the inside (the area against the front washer) including the manufacturers name (HARRIS) and some other numbers.  The NOS replacements (both from the early and later packaging) have different markings on the inside.

Wondering if we have other examples where the "FRONT" is missing from this time period and plant (June 64, Dearborn) and if this was added later in production.

Thanks,

-Scott

Here's a picture of the markings on these.

Well I cleaned these up and I found 2 yellow-orange slashes on the front pieces, and pink around the leading edge. Nothing on the aft pieces.

I've seen that style in the old FoMoCo replacement kits.  I don't have any reference data to support they were used, which is not to say they weren't.
