Picking up a C80E motor - valuable parts?
« on: May 26, 2017, 09:08:28 PM »
Going to get a C8OE motor tomorrow morning.  Any idea what parts, if any, might be more valuable?  From what I'm reading in Bob Mannel's book, it could be a Cleveland late 289 or early 302.  Has a C5 4 bbl intake, so assuming it was a 2V originally and owner's son picked up a 4bbl.  Has two sets of heads, and I only know one is a set of 289.  Assume the others are original 68 2Vs if my guess is correct.

Thanks,
Rich

Looks like the 68 4V heads are worth something if they are there.

Block is stamped on the back flat spot "9A191421".   Don't know if that's anything special or not.  Had C7 289 heads, so must be a C8OE 289.

It's a 1969 block used on an Atlanta Assembly Plant vehicle, VIN 191421.

If its a 69 Block, it must be a 302
San Jose built (Mid Dec 67) Non GT J code Coupe.
