Steering shaft lengths
« on: August 27, 2017, 05:00:43 AM »
I have a steering shaft from a 70 B302 and one from a 70 Grande and found that the one from the Grande is shorter. The boss on the top end of the Grande's shaft is also skewed to one side. Were the shaft length's actually different or could the have Grande been in an accident at some time?

The shaft should be adjustable and slides in and out of the column.

yes, I can see it now - the hop half of the shaft slides into the lower half - I always wondered how collapsible columns worked.

There are supposed to be nylon buttons that hold the inner and outer parts together until impact.
