Mach 1 Stripe colors with Black Jade in '69
« on: August 05, 2010, 10:32:18 PM »
I've located a '69 Mach 1 that's supposedly all original, even down to the paint.  According to the source, the car is Black Jade, but it has BLACK Mach 1 stripes.  Every Black Jade Mach 1 I've seen has had gold stripes.  Was it even possible to order black stripes on such a dark color?  I only ask because I'm restoring a Black Jade '69.  I'd always assumed that it came with gold stripes.  When I ordered a Marti Report for the car, I assumed it would list the original stripe color on the invoice/option list, but it doesn't.

Could my car have come with black Mach 1 stripes?
Too much junk, too little time.

I have 2 69 MACH 1's and both Marty reports do not list the stripe color on mine either. I would say nothing is impossible, especially back then. The stripe would still be reflective either way.

I have seen Black & gold in the past. This has been cussed & discussed many time on the CJ forum.:

There were recommended color combinations but if the car was going to be ordered then it was a customer's choice
