wtb 1965 Fastback trunk lid
« on: February 08, 2017, 02:35:21 AM »
My trunk lid is damaged and would like to replace it with the same 1965 rather than use a 1966 style reproduction.

I'm in Southern Cal.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for responding!

The attached pictures are of my current trunk lid (August 18 1964).  The reproduction trunk lid has round circles within the two rectangular areas made by the inner frame stamping.

Later '65 trunk lids are fine as long as they look like the one I have underneath.

The second picture shows the inner structure gap from the trunk lid skin.  I think this was cause from when the rear tail panel was hit (it is currently flat viewed from the inside but bondo sculptured on the outside).

Again,  thank you!

Finding that early of a trunk lid will be hard as you have that weird bracket welded to the left side when they were trying to figure out the rod.

Chris,

Fortunately, that bracket is welded to the trunk hinge.  I had to run out and check it out, (heh heh).  Unfortunately, if the same accident that damaged the tail panel and trunk lid also damaged the hinges, I'm screwed.

Yes!  Note the under side looks exactly like the one on my Mustang except with yours the underside frame is flat against the trunk lid skin as compared to my trunk lid (second picture) where there is a visible gap.

Thank You!  I'll send you a PM.

If that is 8023 3C that's perfect for me - hoping it's the same as August 23.  Regardless,  I'm sold on it.

Thank you!
