1. When you see console on a Marti report it means lower console.

2. Yes you can have a non GT car with a roof console provided it has a deluxe interior, the roof console was part of that option.

3. The insert on the 68 roof console was a wood grain appliqué. The vinyl part was color keyed to the interior.

Hope this helps

so that means that

1. if you have a standar interior , its impossible to have a roof console in your cars ?

2. did is possible to have a black interior ( non wood grain ) but the roof console its wood grain in a gt car ?

+1 on Marty's answers. GT option is NOT what decides the roof console feature. Your "Marti Report" (not saying what Marty reports, though his report is accurate ;) ) would HAVE to have the Decor Interior option listed (Deluxe Interior). This is not only true for 1968 as the O.P. Is asking, but it is also true for the 1967's. 67's used the brushed aluminum insert while the 68 used the vinyl wood insert, the rest of the upper console is the same. I believe, if you remove the wood decal from a 68 roof console, you've just converted it to a '67! NOTE: there is a thin bright chrome trim on these inserts, seen bordering the wood decal or brushed finish (pending the year of your car)

so that means that

1. if you have a standar interior , its impossible to have a roof console in your cars ?  TRUE

2. did is possible to have a black interior ( non wood grain ) but the roof console its wood grain in a gt car ? NO! As written out and explained earlier, GT has nothing to do with the interior trim level. No consoles installed at the factory into ANY standard interior cars in 1968 NOR 1967.
