Temp sender location
« on: February 07, 2017, 07:02:39 AM »
Hi
What's the correct location of the temp sender for my 390 gt 67 mustang?
Is it behind the dizzy in manifold or on thermostat housing?
Just one other thing, the vac advance hose on the dizzy, does it connect to the carb or somewhere else?
Thanks.

Temp sender in the manifold

NON-Thermactor equipped goes to the carburetor

FYI your 67 390 should not have a thermostat housing with a threaded boss in it for a distributor vacuum switch. That was 68 on up and will have a engineering number starting with a C8. The 67 is a one year only housing that was designed to take the new for 67 smaller thermostat, It will have a engineering number that starts with a C7. It looks exactly shaped like the C8 68 versions except it does not have the boss for the thread hole.  The one that most often gets substituted is the the common C5 marked thermostat housing which has a slightly different shape compared to the correct C7 version on the out side and on the inside it takes the larger thermostat used on pre 67 cars.
