Topic: Correct Power Steering pump

I'm trying to figure out what power steering pump should be mounted on my car.  It was built Oct 1964 in San Jose and has AC.  I believe there are three types of pump. The regular ford pump with the slanted neck, the regular eaton pump, and the eaton pump with reservoir mounted to the inner fender with cars that have AC.  Now I have seen the regular eaton pump mounted on cars with AC.  So that is where I am confused.  Any help would be appreciated

Eaton pump with remote resivour.

The regular Eaton Pump  can be used with Air Condition. I have seen two on a August 64' car and a April 65' Unrestored cars.
A special mounting bracket is used and the Eaton pump sits very low.
Rodes Restoration, up in Ohio ,is a good source for Early power steering stuff.

Here is the set up from my Sept 28 64 Dearborn Fastback. It has AC and an Eaton Pump with resivour. This is the set up that $64stang is refering to I believe.

Just looked at Bob Mannels book, yep it does look like a 67 on page 7k6 A and 7k8 A . HOWEVER check out Page 5k24 picture F. Anoter Good picute on Page 5k25 B This pump was taken off a Late August 64 unrestored car that a guy was turning into a restomod in LA. Many Ford used the same part?

Wish we knew more about that system and too bad the picture of the engine in Mannel's book with that setup is not from a Mustang.

Thought I would ask a question on this old post. I have a Jan 65 Dearborn Fastback with the Eaton pump and looking at the picture of the reservoir and pump should one paint it bare metal color or leave it unfinished and cleared. I always thought they were painted Silver

Silver paint on the reservoir natural on the bolt and washer,
The large bolt down on the pump leave it unpainted think it is like a
One inch size or bigger.

Sorry to revive an old topic again.  Jim and/or 5F09CNot4Sale, are you able to provide the part numbers to the bolts and nuts that mount the brackets to the pump on this setup.  I looked through the excel hardware spreadsheet and searching AMK and nothing came up...
