I got a call from a friend of mine, Scott (I've known him about 30 years now) who said - "Guess what I got?" I rushed over, 35mm camera in hand, and saw "it" - 6S2377, the red Shelby convertible. The car was just off the flatbed from the auction at Carmel. The owner was concerned about a water leak around the water pump so he dropped it off for Scott to check it out. The leak was due to a loose hose clamp. However, there were other things that needed to be looked into. The exhaust system was "rusty" so it got replaced (the resonators are still in my storage rack, I sold the "H" pipe for $25, the rest was either reused or tossed), the dial came off the tach, the quarter windows needed adjustment (Scott used the 66 Mustang Body Assembly Manual), and some other odds and ends. When he was done, the car went to the owner's storage area and Scott went to work on other cars. It's only business. The car is up for auction again next month.
Here are some pictures I took when the Shelby came off the flatbed.
