early 67 power steering hose
« on: November 02, 2016, 01:47:39 PM »
Sept 66 date 390 GTA is the lower HP power steering hose ribbed? The one that came with the car is with a brass fitting on one end and steel on the other. Trying to find a replacement and its hard to tell looking at pic's. Also is the lower return hose about the same length as the HP hose? The new hose I got is longer. I think they sent me the wrong hose????

It is really hard to find adequate power steering hoses. When I needed mine for 1997 Mustang, after a couple of attempts that did not work out, I finally got hoses by Genuine (https://www.carid.com/power-steering-hoses/). And I must admit, they are pretty cool. From everything I tried out, these appeared to be the best and I still have got them (for 7 years or so).

A company called Blue dot makes the best reproduction for early Mustangs that I know of.

...but NOT ALL APPLICATIONS. They do make a good quality reproduction for the 390 the O.P. is asking about but they do not for others. (such as 67 small blocks)
