« on: March 26, 2014, 08:51:02 PM »
67GTA S code fastback April 67 SJ non AC  power steering/brakes
just doing front coil springs, they appear to be non painted spring steel,
the springs have one yellow strip on them, just want to verify that was
the only color required,  thanks

Could there be a Tan stripe with the Yellow? MPC shows two colors for your designation, but we know that the MPC isn't necessarily the recipe for the assembly line.

I'll check some buildsheets - or at least what I have. Just noticed the GTA  :-[

The finish would be a dark heat treated steel (oil quenched) You should be able to find a number of threads as to how others are gettign them to that look ;)

thanks for the response, I guess another way of looking at this would be, were  there any springs
that had only one color stripe or did they all have two for identification

no, I was just thinking the 67 coil springs , I cleaned the other coil looking for the tan paint dab and found
what looks like a light gold color which  I think would be close to the tan, which was mentioned before,my guess at this point is that
these are the two paint colors for this application, what a interesting road to go down to restore a Mustang
properly, I could not do this without the people that support this web site, Thanks again

From buildsheets

Late 67 390 auto non- ac - shows 1 Yellow & 1 Gold  ;)

Now we need a picture of what you found :)

Before you ask and to assist others Rear springs show -  1 Orange & 1 White  strips (front to back on short leaf behind rearend_
