NO
PBF (Power By Ford) are 68-on

Your should be looking for a similar shape, but smooth where the debossed Power By Ford is in these.

Are you sure on this?  This wasn't a running change for '67?  My '67 coupe has the embossed valve covers.  I can't say for sure that they're original, but they match the patina on the rest of the motor, and it's definitely the original born-with 289 for the car.

Maybe yet another running change, I will deffer to others for the specifics. My 11/2/66 built came with the smoothies. With THAT, I am confident ;)
If it changes, it must be a VERY late change. In my hunble opinion, I seriously doubt they were used at all in 67 model year.

I too was under the assumption that the embossed version started with 68 but would like to be educated if otherwise

I may be way off base as well, or the valve covers might have been swapped earlier in my car's life.  My car is a December-built Metuchen '67.

That what I found.

However, seems that not everything is correct. Because: 1967 289 Blue Blue Blue "PBF"

Pls have a look on VALVE COVERS:

It depends on what engine you want to do, the colors on the valve covers and air cleaner depends on model year and displacement.

All Ford engines were black from 1959 up to 1965, Ford didn't start to paint their engines blue until 1966.

Just to clarify so others reading don't get mis information.,the information you posted is incorrect . There was more then one color used in those years and Ford made a change during the later part of 65 production not 66. The change was made to save money and labor when painting everything Ford dark blue instead of multiple colors.

It is doubtful that they are originals from that build date.

Both my July 1966 Dearborn coupe and my Nov. 1966 Metuchen built coupe came with the "smoothies". And both sets were original to the respective car.

Ralf, I bought these (below) a year or two ago from off of eBay. At that time there were several sets available  for sale.

I imagine if you are patient, several more will become available. Just keep looking. They were used for 1966 and 1967 289 engines.

Well, guess I know what I'm asking for for Christmas...  :D

Guys, just to follow up on this: I was completely mistaken.  I was going off of memory, and thought I remembered my '67 having the embossed valve covers.  I checked yesterday, and they are the correct smooth valve covers.  Not sure what I was thinking.
