Hi all,

Wanted to ask some questions about the harness connectors and a wheel trim..
#1 Are this wheel trim original to the car..? Accessories..? Dealer option..?

#2 What are those pigtails intended to.? The GRN/YLW has +12v continuous. BLK/BLU don't remember, sorry..!
right, I found that GRN/YLW is for stowage compartment light (wire num. 54), is that the top part of the central console.?
The BLK/BLU goes to courtesy lights, (wire num. 53)

#3 and #4 what is connected to this RED tri-connector.? It's from the lights harness I think. The wire attached is capped. Haven't tested the voltage there..
think this is wire num. 19, BLU/RED and could go to radio light

Am I right here..?

#2.  Those plugs are for the optional console harness.
#3/4.  Most likely the radio light.

Thanks midlife, I was wondering what were their use. Checked the manual shop and found thta and wanted to make sure. I got the central console harness but obviously connected in a different way. Will have to revise and do it correct.
For the radio, well, at the moment it doesn't works but a friend of mine will try to repair it. I need to locate the wire num.140 (BLK/RED were the 137 YLW/BLK (from radio) connects.

Josep,
You really need to get a set of Mustang Assembly Manuals for your car. Almost all the answers to your questions will be there. In order for me to answer them, I will need to get mine out and see.
That looks like a standard 66 wheel cover.
Offhand, 53 and 54 are switched courtesy light power and constant power for the console (and other lights). (The same color coded wires are used in my 1999 E250 Ford Van.)
That blue-red (19) should be lights controlled by the dimmer in the light switch, and yes, for the radio. The wire connector is wrong.

I do have the Manual Shop, and I've found in the schematics there the answer, just wanted to make sure I understand the diagram, that I wasn't wrong. Probably Assembly Manuals will help more, no doubt.

You mean the RED connector with the three outlets.? Is that wrong.? That blue cap at the end of the RED/BLU wire is just an end, wire is capped.

Power for the radios in 64.5 through 66 used a black wire that plugged into a three prong outlet tied to the top of the fuse box, which also powers the reverse lights.  In 67 through 70, radio power was yellow/black and a two prong plug with the other side blue/red for the lamp.  In 1971 through 1973, the radio power was a white/purple wire, shared again with the blue/red.  As far as I know, radio lamp power always came from that three prong plug shown in the first post.  The radio itself provided the male bullet lead (red/blue) and another wire (color unknown to me as I don't have an original radio around) with a male bullet that plugged into the black wire I mentioned earlier.

The wheel lip moldings are not factory/dealer correct for when the car was sold new.

OK Charles, thanks for the info. Maybe a PO put those wheel moldings on sometime in its life.
